Steal Away evolved from a visual object into an interdisciplinary mutli-media work once the accompaning audio CD was produced at Sven Abow's Sound Pool Studios of Washington DC.
In it's final incarnation, Steal away is an homage to the people who endured slavery's horrors, those who escaped, and those brave sould who were organized to help thousands of determined souls and their families escape to freedom on the Underground Railroad and its "safe house" Stations throughout free states, Canada and Mexico! The artists voices collaborating with me on the audio production are: Greg McGruder, Barry Donald Jones, Mable Robinson, and Bernice Johnson Reagon who scored and sung the music of Steal Away made the making of Steal Away ever more gradifying and complete!
